MuMs Heating Up Instructions | FishCakes aka CodFish Ball Poppers

Reheating Instructions for GrandMama's Fish Cakes aka CodFish Ball Poppers

For the best taste and texture, always reheat the FishCakes aka CodFish Ball Poppers to an internal temperature of 165°F. Moderate heat works best! High heat or long reheating times can dry out the fish or make the batter soggy.

Toaster Oven [Recommended]

Best method for restoring that crispy, fresh-fried texture.

        Preheat toaster oven to 350 - 375°F.

Arrange poppers in a single layer on the tray [line with foil for easy cleanup]

Heat 8 -10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crisp outside and hot in the center.

Conventional Oven

Best when reheating a larger batch.

        Preheat oven to 350 - 400°F.

Place poppers on a lightly oiled baking sheet in a single layer.

Bake 10 - 15 minutes, flipping once, until heated through and crisp.

Microwave [Fastest, but Softer Texture]

Good for a quick bite - expect a softer crust rather than a crispy one.

Place a few poppers on a microwave safe plate.

Loosely cover with a damp paper towel.

Microwave on high for 45 seconds to 1 minute, checking and adding time in 15-second bursts as needed.

Sterno|Chafing Dish [For Serving, Not Reheating]

Sterno is designed to hold already hot food at serving temperature, not to safely reheat cold poppers from scratch.

Fully reheat poppers first using the toaster oven or oven method above [to 165°F].

Transfer to a chafing pan over the lit sternos to keep warm while serving.

Do not rely on sternos alone to bring cold poppers up to temperature, food safety guidelines recommend avoiding extended time between 40°F and 140°F.
